The 32nd State Level Children’s Science Conference was inaugurated by the Hon’ble MLA Palampur Vidhan Sabha Constituency Ashish Butail at Government College Dhaliyara, District Kangra. Dr. Suresh Chand Attri, Joint Member Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Council for Science, Technology and Environment (HIMCOSTE) felicitated the Chief Minister with a bouquet, shawl, cap and flower pot. About 550 students and teachers from different districts of the state are participating in various competitions such as Mathematics Olympiad, Essay Writing, Slogan Writing, Science Quiz, Science Skit and Innovative Science Model. In this conference, the MLA also visited the science exhibition put up by the child scientists. A colourful cultural programme was presented by school children on the occasion. In his address, the Chief Minister told all the participants about the future of the country. He said that such events inculcate scientific, logical and innovative thinking in children. He urged HIMCOSTE to provide all possible facilities to all the participants at the venue. Dr. Suresh Atri, Joint Secretary, HIMCOSTE, said that in the year 2024-25, a total of 22000 children had registered for the Children’s Science Conference through online medium. At the end of the program, Deputy Director Elementary Education Department Kangra Ajay Sambiyal thanked the chief guest, all the participants and the teachers present. The event was also attended Senior Scientific Officer and State Coordinator and staff of HIMCOSTE , Principal of Dhaliyara Public School.
