The inquiry into the murder of Vimal Negi, the chief engineer of the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation, has been taken up by the CBI DIG who traveled from Delhi to Shimla. On Sunday, the DIG traveled to Shimla to personally look into and keep an eye on the situation. CBI SP Jaipal had arrived on Saturday prior to this. Two CBI officers arrived at the SP office on Sunday and viewed the full inquiry record. Although other papers were also stolen, CBI authorities stated that each page of the police inquiry requires the signatures of every SIT member. The remaining records won’t be taken till after this. The cops have requested a day or two from the CBI for this purpose.
A four-person team, which included the DSP, had been gathering case-related documents up until this point. However, six CBI officials and staff have now begun the inquiry. In the Grand Hotel, the CBI team has established a base camp. The CBI team will now stay at the Grand Hotel instead of the police headquarters’ guest home. The CBI team is now occupied with document collection. People will be summoned to testify as the inquiry goes on. Vimal Negi has been accused by the family of forcing them to take improper actions during the power project’s operation.
In this case, a CBI team would also gather project-related documents from Power Corporation Shimla. Officers and staff are to be questioned during this time. Additionally, a crew might be dispatched to Una to look at the Pekhubela solar power project. It is also possible to interrogate Superintendent of Police Sanjay Gandhi, former Director General of Police Atul Verma, and Administrative Investigation Officer Additional Chief Secretary Omkar Sharma. The Superintendent of Police office reportedly stayed open on Sunday as well. Two CBI officers arrived at the SP office in the evening. To look into the death of Vimal Negi, family members, police officers, and representatives of the Power Corporation will be questioned. They might be summoned to the base camp by CBI.
