Hamirpur, September 20. A camp organized on the campus of the Punjab National Bank Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI) in Mattan Siddh to provide training in mushroom cultivation to women from rural areas concluded on Saturday. At the camp, 34 women learned the intricacies of mushroom cultivation.
Attending the camp’s closing ceremony as the chief guest, Punjab National Bank Circle Office Head Neeraj Kumar Anand said that women in rural areas can increase their income by setting up small businesses or enterprises at home, alongside their daily chores. To establish these businesses, they should take advantage of various bank loan schemes. The RSETI can also help them in this regard.
On this occasion, Ajay Katana, Director of RSETI, welcomed the chief guest, other guests, and all the participating women and provided information about the institute’s various activities. He explained that anyone between the ages of 18 and 50 can participate in the short-term training programs regularly held at RSETI, free of charge. Accommodation, meals, and all other facilities are also provided free of charge by the institute.
During the event, all officers, staff, and participating women took a pledge for cleanliness and also participated in a voluntary work program on the institute’s campus. Financial Literacy Advisor GC Bhatti, camp evaluators Sansar Chand Rana and Vidyasagar, faculty member Vinay Chauhan, and other officials were also present.
