Dialogue with senior politicians representing the state at the center

A group of students from Himachal Pradesh who had gone to participate in the program organized at the Bharat Mandapam campus in New Delhi under “Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue, 2025” by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India, has returned. 39 students participated in this event under the aegis of Central University, the nodal agency of Himachal Pradesh. Students from various private and government educational institutions of Himachal were included in this group.
In this program, about 30 lakh students from all the states and union territories of India, Andaman-Nicobar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Dadar-Nagar-Haveli, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, and Pondicherry participated. At the same time, only three thousand participants were selected for the program organized at Bharat Mandapam, and they participated in the National Youth Festival on behalf of their state. On January 12, on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, the students got the opportunity to listen to the views of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to the students, they got a golden opportunity to represent Himachal in front of so many participants. This was such a platform where all the participants were giving tough competition to each other.

“Congratulating the team that returned to Himachal, Vice Chancellor of Central University, Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal, said that Central University got the opportunity to represent Himachal, and all the students gave their best performance on such a big platform. This is a matter of pride for the state. Two members of the university, Prof. Malkiyat Singh and Dr. Pooja Awasthi, Public Relations Officer, were nominated with the delegation going to Delhi.”
These students represented Himachal in the next phase.
Out of the 39 students selected from Himachal Pradesh, four students got the opportunity to represent Himachal in the future. These included Suraj from Government College Sanjauli Shimla, Vaishnavi Dogra from Degree College Dharamshala, and Nitin from Pharmacy College Rohru. For the final stage, Arnab from Pharmacy College Rohru got the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to Arnab, this opportunity was priceless for him. Till now he had seen and heard the prime minister, but when he got the opportunity to go close and talk to him, that moment was thrilling.

During the program, the Himachal team got a chance to meet Union Health Minister JP Nadda, MP Anurag Thakur, Rajya Sabha MP Indu Goswami, and MP Virendra Kashyap. The students interacted with them and had dinner with them. All the students were very excited during this time.
Students presented their views in front of renowned experts.
39 students selected from Himachal Pradesh presented their views to the experts through a PPT held at Bharat Mandapam. The experts included Kalpana Saroj, Chhabi Rajput, Ronnie Screwvala, Anand Kumar, Ritesh Agarwal, Dr. S. Somnath, Anand Mahindra, and Palki Sharma. During this, the students gave individual presentations on the topics “Students can use technology for a developed India, development as well as heritage, empowering youth for a developed India, increasing productivity in agriculture, making India the startup capital of the world, making India a sporting and fit nation, making India a global manufacturing powerhouse, making India energy efficient, building infrastructure for the future, empowering women, and improving social indicators.”
