Shimla
The Vigilance Bureau has intensified the investigation of the scam of more than one crore rupees in the name of water supply through tankers in Shimla district last summer. Which tanker was where at what time will be traced through GPS. Where the tanker drivers were at that time will also be revealed from mobile location. Along with this, the bank accounts of the suspended engineers and contractors will also be investigated. On Monday, Vigilance questioned 7 SDOs and JEs other than the executive engineer. They have revealed many secrets in the interrogation of about two hours. A contractor has also been questioned. It is being told that mobile phones of some officers have also been seized. Vigilance has collected records from the Jal Shakti Department. These engineers will be questioned again today.
On the other hand, on Monday at 8 am, the team of the Vigilance Bureau reached those sources of water from where the contractor has said to lift water. According to sources, not only the engineers but also the clerks of the office are under the purview of investigation. The team of the Vigilance Bureau is looking into how many people participated in the tender for water supply done by the Jal Shakti Department last year. Has the supply order been issued to benefit the favorites? The team of the Vigilance Bureau visited Lelu Bridge of the Giri River, 20 km from Theog, on Monday. Apart from this, the team also reached Kyaar Khad. The records of the Jal Shakti Department state that water was taken to the affected areas through tankers from the Giri River and Kyaar Khad. The Vigilance is seriously investigating every aspect.
It is also being feared that this scam may be worth more than Rs 1.13 crore. The layers of this case will be revealed gradually. On the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has said that the culprits will not be spared under any circumstances. At the same time, Additional Chief Secretary Jal Shakti Omkar Sharma said that the case will be investigated impartially.
This is the matter.
Last year, tenders were issued for water supply for many affected areas of Theog tehsil, but there is one village in it that is still not connected by road. Surprisingly, water was said to be supplied through tankers there too. The tankers, which were claimed to supply water, also had the number of a motorcycle and an officer’s car given in them. Everyone is surprised by this act of the Jal Shakti Department. In such a situation, the government took the matter seriously and suspended 10 engineers of the Jal Shakti Department recently.
