An incident of land subsidence has come to the fore in Sonia Vihar area of Delhi. Due to continuous rain in the upper areas, the water level of Yamuna has crossed the danger mark. Many areas are flooded. Hundreds of people have had to take shelter in safe places. The situation is getting worse due to the continuous release of water from Hathini Barrage.
There is a lot of water in Badarpur village adjoining Ghaziabad and Delhi border today. People living in the village have been brought to higher places. Tents of many people have been set up on the road. Some part of this village is in Delhi and some is in Ghaziabad. The population of this village is around 1500. Efforts are on to remove everyone from here.
Due to the continuous rain in Delhi, the situation is getting worse. The land has sunk in the Sonia Vihar area. Minister Kapil Mishra said that a case of land sinking has come to light on the Yamuna Pushta near the police station in Sonia Vihar.
