Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) will soon get 300 nurses. This recruitment will be done on an outsourced. After the approval of the cabinet, the health department has allotted tenders to three companies. Apart from this, vacant posts for nurses and paramedical staff are also to be filled in Tanda, Hamirpur and Nerchowk Medical College. Its formalities have to be completed by the health department.
According to the World Health Organization, the ratio of nurse to patient should be one to two to five. Whereas in the hospitals of the state, there is one staff nurse for 15 to 18 patients. In CCU and ICU, there is one staff nurse for three to four patients. Whereas there should be one for one to two patients. On this basis, new posts for staff nurses should be created in the hospitals of the state. Not only this, the number of beds in many hospitals has been increased. With the increase in beds, the posts of staff nurses have not been increased on that basis.
