After topping the list of the two prestigious world ranking organizations – Times Higher Education and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) – Shoolini University has emerged as the top young private university in the rankings announced by US News and World Report.
The University has been ranked 769th globally with a remarkable score of 47.2 in the 2024-2025 Best Global Universities Rankings by U.S. News and World Report. Within India, Shoolini University stands out at 12th rank among all Indian universities and institutions like the IITs.
140 institutions from India were ranked, with IISC Bangalore leading at number 612 with a score of 51.2, followed by IIT Bombay at rank 635 with a score of 50.3.
Founder and Chancellor Prof PK Khosla said, “This recognition underscores our commitment to academic excellence and research impact on a global scale”.
Congratulating the researchers, faculty and students, Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla said that the recognition from the leading global rankings organisations was a testimony of the emphasis laid on research and academics in the university” and added that the university would continue to accord high priority to research and innovation”.
The 2024-2025 rankings include 2,250 top institutions from 104 countries, up from 2,000 institutions from 95 countries in the previous year. U.S. News and World Report created a pool of 2,271 universities to determine these rankings. This pool included the top universities from Clarivate’s global reputation survey and any institutions that published at least 1,250 papers from 2018 to 2022. These criteria produced the final ranking pool from which the top 2,250 universities were selected.
Vellore Institute of Technology, a private deemed to be a university, established 40 years ago in 1984, has been placed at the overall rank of sixth in the country.
