Himachal Pradesh government has been alerted for new avian influenza H-9N-2 virus. However, till now not a single case of this disease has been reported in Himachal Pradesh. Following the guidelines of WHO, the state government has also instructed the hospital managements to remain alert. The government has ordered the hospital administration to create the isolation wards in the hospitals.
The state government has asked the administration to test the patients suffering from cold, cough, fever and pneumonia in OPD. Influenza can worsen the symptoms of other chronic diseases. In severe cases, influenza can lead to pneumonia, so people with other medical problems or severe symptoms should seek medical advice.
Health Secretary M Sudha said that guidelines are issued to the hospital management from time to time regarding the disease.
