Shimla:
In line with the directions of the Chief Minister, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap held a video conference with SDMs, Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars to ensure the speedy disposal of pending revenue and partition (Taqseem) cases in the district before March 31, 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner directed that all Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars will conduct hearings of partition cases three days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday—to ensure time-bound resolution. A minimum of 12 days each month has been earmarked for hearings of such cases. He further stated that a review of partition case hearings will be conducted every Saturday, and the progress report will be submitted to the Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) on the same day.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the Revenue Department to present a comprehensive record of private land, forest land and government land across the state. In addition, details of all cases pending in revenue courts have been sought, including the nature of cases and the duration for which they have remained pending.
Anupam Kashyap informed that there were 1,355 partition cases pending in Shimla district, out of which only 12 cases were resolved through Lok Adalats held on January 6, 2026. He directed all field staff and revenue officers to dispose of the pending cases well before the stipulated deadline.
Emphasizing the importance of efficient governance, the Deputy Commissioner said that swift and time-bound resolution of revenue cases will be ensured. He specifically instructed that all pending revenue cases related to corrections (Durusti) must be settled by March 31, 2026.
He reaffirmed that the district administration is working with full commitment to ensure the prompt disposal of all pending revenue matters.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Divyanshu Singhal, ADM Law and Order Pankaj Sharma, AC to DC Devi Chand Thakur, along with other officers, were present during the meeting.
