A strict action is taken by arresting Hostel warden in ragging case of Bahra University.
Earlier five students were arrested by the police in this case. Whereas, now the police has detained hostel warden Purna Chand.
According to the information, investigation revealed that on the day of the incident, 56-year-old Purna Chand resident Arki was on duty in Hostel No. 1. Purna Chand failed to prevent this incident due to negligence in his responsibilities and not keeping an eye on the activities of the students. Due to this, now the police has detained Purna Chand.
The police team has registered a case against Purna Chand under section 4 of Himachal Pradesh Educational Institutions Anti Ragging Act-2009 and section 35 (3) of BNS and started further investigation.
A case of ragging came to light from Bahra University on September 7. Here at night, the senior students called the first year student to the room and beat him badly. A video related to which is going viral on social media. After which on Monday the student lodged a complaint in the police station in this regard.
The senior students first abused this first year student. After this, they were forcibly making him take drugs. When he did not agree, they slapped and hit him with a belt. After which on Tuesday the administration of Bahara University also presented its side. In which they said that action has been taken against the accused students in this case.
At the same time, the university administration took immediate action and called a meeting of the Anti Ragging Committee and the students found guilty were expelled from the university and hostel. At the same time, the report related to this matter has been handed over to the police.
The police say that this matter is due to mutual rivalry between the students. It is being told that the first year student and one of the senior students used to study in the same school.
