Mandi : In response to a question asked by journalists during a press conference held in Mandi, former Himachal Chief Minister Jairam Thakur said that India should cancel all trade agreements with Turkey, the country that stood with Pakistan in Operation Sindoor. If the import of apples from there is banned and Indian tourists are also not allowed to go there, then this will be the biggest diplomatic strike on it. Not only this, famous film producers and directors should also refrain from going there for film shooting. He said that after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the Indian Army destroyed terrorist bases, airbases and military bases in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor, while Pakistan, enraged by this, targeted India’s border areas and many cities with missiles and drones, but the Indian Air Defense System destroyed them in the air itself. Amidst all this, news came that Turkey helped Pakistan by giving drones against India, after which there is a demand to boycott Turkish goods and trade across the country. The Indian government has also started this. Just two days ago, the security clearance of Turkish company Celebi Airport Service has been cancelled with immediate effect in the national interest. This company used to provide services at eight airports in India. India has taken this step for supporting Pakistan. This step of India will give a big blow to Turkey’s tourism and business interests.
Jairam Thakur said that during the conflict between India and Pakistan, Turkey and China helped Pakistan completely. They supplied drones to Pakistan and also gave it technical help. In such a situation, India should cancel all its trade agreements with Turkey.
Jairam Thakur said that when there was devastation in Turkey due to earthquake, India had shown humanitarian approach and helped Turkey a lot, but the kind of actions Turkey is doing now is not tolerable. Today every Indian has the same feeling and thinking that all kinds of relations with Turkey should be ended. The people of Himachal especially have this feeling and demand that apples imported from Turkey should be banned with immediate effect. Jairam Thakur said that the people of India should also take strict steps regarding tourism with Turkey. Tourism is a big source of income for Turkey. Every year lakhs of Indians visit Turkey. In such a situation, if these Indians come to visit the tourist places of the country instead of going to Turkey, then Turkey can also be taught a lesson. Tourists can go to Himachal or other places of the country to visit, due to which the people here will get more employment.
