Bishop Cotton School (BCS) emerged victorious at the Annual Slater Debates 2026, defeating Sherwood College in a closely fought final marked by sharp arguments and engaging exchanges.
The finale saw both teams display high-quality oratory, incisive rebuttals and strong analytical depth, keeping the audience engrossed. The BCS team impressed judges with clarity of thought, composure and persuasive delivery to secure the championship on home turf.
Sherwood College delivered a commendable performance and was declared runner-up, earning praise for its confident presentation and depth of analysis.
The event’s chief guest, Jyoti Malhotra, Editor-in-Chief of The Tribune, lauded participants for their articulation, critical thinking and spirit of constructive debate.
Rajveer Kochhar was adjudged Best Speaker Overall for his impactful delivery and strong debating skills.
The event concluded with BCS lifting the trophy amid applause, reinforcing the Slater Debates’ legacy as a premier platform for nurturing public speaking and intellectual exchange among students.
