The GCC and Omega Leo Club of Waknaghat, in collaboration with the Lions Valley Club of Solan, organized a monumental Blood Donation Drive at the Jaypee University of Information Technology Auditorium. Supported by the National Cadet Corps (NCC), JYC Health Club and NSS Club, the event embodied the spirit of community service, compassion, and social responsibility, setting a new benchmark for future initiatives.
The drive was facilitated by the strategic organization of faculty coordinators of Omega Leo Club Prof. Hemant Sood and Mr. Chanderpaul Gautam along with Mr. Vineet Rai Sood, Chairperson of the Lions Club Solan Valley, and team of Medical officials Dr Ankita from JUIT and Dr Tarun from MMU. The event commenced at 10:00 AM with a ceremonial opening with words of motivation from Vice Chancellor Prof. R K Sharma and other administrative heads. The audience was graced by the remarks of Mr. Vineet Rai Sood, followed by insightful speeches from Co-Chaiman Mr Sumit Dang and the President Mr Vijay Verma Lions Club Solan Valley. Their words underscored the significance of blood donation and highlighted the collective effort required to make such initiatives successful.They acknowledged the spirits of Omega Leo members, Gender Champions and NCC cadets along with special appreciations for JUITt administration.
A remarkable total of 75 units of blood was donated by faculty, staff and students of JUIT along with Lions Club members as well. The collaboration with the Lions Club and other supporting organizations like NCC with Lt. Pragya Gupta and faculty coordinators from JYC, Dr Poonam Sharma, Dr Ashok Nadda and Dr Naveen Jaglan and Dr Nishant Jain from NSS and Gender Champions highlighted the power of unity in service. The success of the drive left an indelible mark on the community, exemplifying the true meaning of care and altruism, and fulfilling the mission of the Omega Leo Club to make a positive and lasting impact on society.
