Baddi University students organize a cleanliness drive in Village Malpur, focusing on the areas in front of the local Mandir and Gurdwara. This initiative was part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign. The drive was led by NSS Program Officer Ankita Thakur, along with coordinators Gurwinder Singh and Vinod Kumar, and a group of dedicated NSS volunteers. The aim is promoting hygiene, cleanliness, and environmental awareness among the villagers.
After the morning session of cleaniness drive,the activities continued at the university campus. Ankita Thakur delivered an informative lecture on the significance and objectives of NSS camps. She highlighted the role of these camps in fostering community service, leadership, and personal development among students.
Awareness on Depression and Drug Addiction: The afternoon session focused on raising awareness about depression and drug addiction. This crucial topic was addressed by Mrs. Manuradha Thakur, a psychiatrist from the Navkiran Foundation.This event was graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. J.K. Sharma, and the Registrar, Prof. Dr. Khushmeet Kumar, who warmly welcomed the guest speaker with a pot plant as a token of appreciation. Her session emphasized the importance of mental health, the impact of drug addiction on individuals and society, and the resources available for those seeking help. The occasion was also attended by Dean of SOS Dr. Nidhi Gupta, Hod- Electrical (COE) Dr. Geena, and faculty members from various departments.
NSS volunteers actively participated in spreading awareness through various creative means. They presented a skit, drama, and speeches on health, public sanitation, and drug awareness. These performances were aimed at educating the community, encouraging them to adopt healthier lifestyles and practices.
The third day of the NSS camp was both productive and enlightening. The combined efforts of the coordinators, volunteers, and guest speakers significantly contributed to the community’s wellbeing and awareness.
