A private Volvo bus carrying tourists on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway went out of control and overturned on the road. This accident happened near the municipal corporation’s dumping site near Vindravani adjoining Mandi city at around 4 am today.
There were 35 to 40 passengers on board at the time of the accident. Some passengers have been injured, who have been sent to Zonal Hospital Mandi for treatment. According to the information, this private bus was going from Chandigarh to Manali with tourists. As soon as the bus reached near Vindravani, the driver lost control and the bus overturned on the road. It is a matter of luck that this bus did not fall towards the river after going out of control, otherwise a major accident could have happened. There were 35 to 40 tourists on board the bus at the time of the accident. Most of the passengers have suffered minor injuries. They are being treated at Zonal Hospital Mandi. As soon as the information about the accident was received, four ambulances of Zonal Hospital Mandi and a police team immediately reached the spot and took all the injured to the hospital. At the same time, after this accident, the traffic on the highway has also been affected, a part of the road has been closed for traffic due to the bus overturning. Here, traffic is restored on one-way road. SP Mandi Sakshi Verma said, “Sadar police station police team has registered a case regarding the bus accident. The causes of the accident are being investigated. Police team has been deployed on the spot. So that a situation of jam does not arise. Efforts are being made to remove the bus from here as soon as possible with the help of machinery”.
A private tourist bus overturned at 4 am today in Mandi on the Chandigarh-Manali highway.
