Taro Devi said that time passed but after the daughters reached marriageable age, she started worrying about the marriage of both her daughters. She said that it was her dream to marry her daughters well but financial constraints remained the biggest obstacle for her. Her family’s income was not enough to bear the entire expenses of the marriage, and it was also difficult to get help from relatives because everyone was living with limited resources. She said that she was not able to gather sufficient funds for the marriage of her daughter, due to which she was facing difficulties in the marriage of her daughter. She said that she was arranging funds for the marriage of her daughters; during this time, she came to know that under the Chief Minister Kanyadan Yojana, the state government has made a provision of giving a grant of Rs 51 thousand for the marriage of daughters through the Women and Child Development Department. After this, she went to the office of Child Development Project Officer Paonta Sahib and got complete information about the Chief Minister Kanyadan Yojana. She applied on the prescribed form along with the desired documents in the office of Child Development Project Officer Paonta Sahib for the grant amount under the Chief Minister Kanyadan Yojana for the marriage of both her daughters, after which she received a grant amount of Rs 51 thousand each under the Chief Minister Kanyadan Yojana from the state government for the marriage of both the daughters. Taro Devi said that due to the financial assistance received through the Chief Minister Kanyadan Yojana of the state government, there was no problem in the marriage of her daughters and her daughters were able to get married with pomp and show.
