Kullu/Chandigarh, April 11: Thirteen-year-old Namrita Chettri, a Class 9 student of Nepali origin, has brought pride to the Nepali community in Himachal Pradesh by securing first position in the TV reality show “Kisme Kitna Hai Dum” held recently in Chandigarh.
Congratulating her achievement, C.P. Sharma, President of the Pravasi Sanjha Manch, Himachal Pradesh, said Namrita has become a source of inspiration for students from the Nepali community residing in the state. “Her success has made the entire community proud,” he said.
Namrita outperformed participants from eight states to clinch the top position in the competition. To honour her achievement, the organisation held a simple yet dignified समारोह, where she was presented with a memento and a certificate of appreciation in the presence of senior members.
Sharma said that children from the community are talented in every field, including academics, sports, modelling and other activities. “Namrita’s determination, confidence and sharp intellect reflect her strong potential. Her clarity in communication and focus will certainly help her achieve her goals,” he added.
A student of a government school in Kais (Kullu), Namrita expressed happiness over the recognition. She praised the quality of education and environment in government schools, stating that they are better than private institutions.
Aspiring to become a model and eventually an actress, Namrita said she is determined to pursue her dreams in the field of entertainment.
Several dignitaries attended the felicitation ceremony, including retired RM Mangal Chand Manepa, State Vice-President Vishnu Sharma, Kullu District President Karn Singh, Secretary Chandra Bahadur Budha, Manikaran Block President Lal Singh Budha, Senior Advisor Chandra Bahadur Gurung, Advisor Uday Kumar, and journalists Kumar Roka Magar and Sham Azad, among others.
