Computer Teachers Oppose LDR Decision, Demand Implementation of High Court Order

Many of Himachal’s 1,300 Computer Teachers Face Job Insecurity; Several Near Retirement After Years of Service

Shimla, October 23: Computer teachers serving in Himachal Pradesh’s Education Department have expressed concern over the government’s decision regarding LDR, demanding the implementation of the High Court’s order in their favour. The teachers alleged that despite serving the department for decades, their regularisation remains unresolved, leaving many uncertain about their future as they approach retirement.

Computer Teachers’ Union representatives Rajendra Sharma, Vipin Sharma, Kuldeep Sharma and Desh Raj said the government’s decision regarding LDR could adversely affect the interests of computer teachers. They alleged that the authorities had failed to implement the High Court’s order in their favour, adding to the uncertainty faced by the teaching community.

The union said approximately 1,300 computer teachers across the state have played a significant role in imparting computer education and introducing students to modern technology. However, despite their long years of service, their demands for regularisation and job security remain unresolved. Several teachers are now nearing retirement, raising concerns about their future and the benefits they may receive after years of service. The union representatives said the Chief Minister and several ministers had repeatedly assured teachers at different platforms that their interests would be protected. They urged the government to translate these assurances into concrete action and provide a permanent solution to their longstanding demands.

The association has called upon the government to reconsider its decision regarding LDR and take appropriate steps in accordance with the High Court’s directions. It said the issue affects not only the careers of around 1,300 computer teachers but also the future of their families. The union urged the state government to address the matter on priority and ensure that teachers who have devoted years to strengthening computer education in Himachal Pradesh receive justice and clarity regarding their future.
