Congress’s stance on the revision of electoral rolls & EVMs unfortunate alleges that questioning EVMs after losing elections reflects double standards

Former Union Minister and Hamirpur Member of Parliament Anurag Singh Thakur attended the concluding ceremony of the sixth edition of Shiksha Mahakumbh 2026 as the chief guest. Social worker Dr. Indresh Kumar was the special guest, while Sonal Goyal, an IAS officer of the Tripura government, was also present. Organised on the theme Secure India, Developed India, the event featured discussions on education, values, national security, technology and the role of youth.
Congratulating Vidya Bharati and the organisers on the successful conduct of Shiksha Mahakumbh, Anurag Singh Thakur said that education, values, culture and prosperity are the foundations of a developed nation. He informed that the next edition of Shiksha Mahakumbh would be organised at IIT Jammu.
He said that since 2014, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made significant progress towards self-reliance in the defence sector and is now also exporting indigenous defence equipment. To achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047, the youth must come forward in the fields of modern technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and research and development. He also emphasised the need to strengthen Indian culture, values and social principles along with national security.
Regarding the ongoing protest in Delhi, he said that it is mandatory to follow the prescribed rules for holding demonstrations and to provide the administration with the necessary information for security arrangements. On the Congress’s stance regarding the revision of electoral rolls and EVMs, he alleged that questioning EVMs after losing elections reflects double standards. He also said that the prescribed rules must be followed in the process of deleting names from electoral rolls and that people must be given an opportunity to file objections.
On the issue of anti-India activities and foreign funding, Anurag Thakur said that it is necessary to remain vigilant against attempts that could affect the country’s democratic institutions and national security. Referring to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statement regarding a “super Emergency,” he questioned her remarks in the context of the prevailing political circumstances.
On the occasion, Dr. Indresh Kumar said that freedom, dignity, education, self-respect and values are the basic needs of every individual. He called upon all sections of society to work together for the creation of a developed India and to strengthen a sense of pride in Indian culture, languages and national identity.
