Arrive in Leh
On your arrival at the Leh Kushok Bakula Airport, then proceed towards your pre-arranged lodging and stay overnight. On clear weather from aircraft, one can view the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, and Gasherbrum while on the other side Nun Kung Massif covered with snow can be seen.
Located at an elevation ranging between 7545 and 16404 feet above sea level, Leh is utterly a mountainous region, with three equivalent Himalayan ranges – Karakoram, Ladakh and Zanskar. After Kutch in Gujarat, Leh in Jammu and Kashmir is the second-largest region in India. This place known for its stunning sceneries of extroverted valleys and snow-capped mountains, beckons a flock of travelers every year. Some of the chief attractions of the place are Stok Monastery, Pangong Lake, Shanti Stupa and Nubra Valley. Stay overnight at the designated lodging.
Excursion to Monasteries (50 kms, 2 hours one way)
This morning after having crowcock meal, proceed towards the Indus Valley Monastery hike. The jaunt will start with the Hemis Gompa, the largest Spartan foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Enjoy and explore the area on the Indus River bank. Later on move towards the Thiksey Monastery, a magnificent complex situated on the hill above the parish and Shey Palace, the ancient capital of Ladakh. Here you will also be visiting the 3 Idiots Rancho School and Sindhu Ghat. Late in the evening return to hotel for a finger-licking feast with an overnight stay.
Excursion to Pangong Lake – 14,000 feet (140 kms, 4-5 hours one way)
Freshen up in the dawn, and have a relish brunch as today you’re departing towards the Pangong Lake through Chang La at 17590 feet. En route, stop at the Chang La to capture the environs and then drive down to a parish called Tangtse, where you can enjoy a hot cup of tea. Further, you will be planking through various small hamlets which will lead you to reach the extravagant Blue Pangong Lake sited at 14,000 feet. It is one of the largest briny lakes in Asia which sprawls over an area of 100 km crossing the borders of two countries India and China.
Also renowned as a Hollow Lake, Pangong Lake appears as a clear symbol of nature craftsmanship. The briny water plays with sunlight to produce different effects of glow. One-third part of the mere lies in India while the enduring two-third lies in Tibet, an area controlled by China. After spending some quality time at the lake, return to the Leh in the evening. Explore the area and have an appetizing dinner at the hotel in Leh.
Nubra Valley via Khardung La – 18,390 feet (120 kms, 4 -5 hours)
Freshen up and have luscious meal to plank your journey to the valley of flowers mainly called as Nubra valley. The road will go through the Khardung La – uppermost motor-able pass in the world at a height of 18390 feet. Click the pictures of panoramic pass and proceed further to reach Nubra valley. On reach explore the Nubra valley your own. Here you will be sighting the rocky to snowy mountains, rivers, sand dunes, deserts and many more. On reach, check into the campsite and enjoy the night with a delicious feast.
Nubra Valley – Leh (120 kms, 4 -5 hours)
Get up early this morning to drive further to Hunder where you can ride on a double humped Bactrian camel, which still exists in the middle of the dunes of a high altitude desert with snowcapped mountains in the forefront. The scenery between Deskit and Hunder presents you both the harsh parched tons with rocky fields to snowcapped ton and rolling dunes.
Later visit the Deskit monastery which is lying at a peak from where you can take pleasure of the bird’s eye view of the Nubra valley. Late in the afternoon, you will be returning to Leh and in the evening if you are still thrilled then you can go out to the local market where you can explore the Leh cultures.
