Shimla, March 19: Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap on Thursday said that the supply of domestic gas, petrol and diesel remains uninterrupted across the district, and there is no shortage of essential fuels.
Chairing a review meeting with gas supplying companies via video conferencing, the DC directed officials to ensure that commercial LPG cylinders are supplied strictly as per government-fixed priorities. He stressed that regular supplies must be maintained to hospitals, educational institutions, hotels, restaurants and homestays.
Kashyap urged residents not to indulge in unnecessary stockpiling, assuring that the administration, in coordination with oil marketing companies, is closely monitoring the situation to maintain smooth supply chains.
He added that all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) are holding daily review meetings with petrol pump operators and gas agency officials in their respective areas. Reports are being submitted every evening in a prescribed format to track the situation.
The DC also said that authorities are keeping a strict check on the use of domestic LPG cylinders in commercial establishments such as hotels and restaurants.
Further, he directed officials to ensure adequate availability of diesel for machinery engaged in major development works so that ongoing projects are not affected.
He appealed to the public to maintain calm and extend full cooperation to the administration.
