It is with deep sense of sorrow that IGMC Faculty had come to condole the passing away of Dr. R. L. Gupta former Principal of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Kangra at Tanda and former Professor and Head of Department of Surgery, IGMC Shimla and a towering personality who left to the heavenly abode on 25th November 2023, at around 6:30 AM. He left behind him a legacy of a great surgeon and pioneer of Laproscopic Surgery of Himachal Pradesh.
Dr R. L. Gupta was not only a great surgeon, but was a very gentle and passionate soul.
The condolence meeting was held in IGMC Shimla at 10 AM on 25th November 2023 in which the Honble members of SAMDCOT had gathered to commemorate the exceptional quality of their teacher, mentor and colleague Dr. R.L. Gupta who was a stalwart of Surgery in Himachal Pradesh. Few members shared their experiences as students and colleagues of Dr. R. L Gupta.
While offering heartfelt sympathies and condolences, Prof. Balbir Singh Verma President of SAMDCOT said that their thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family. He hoped that the family is able to draw strength in this hour of grief and said that whole of the IGMC Shimla stands shoulder to shoulder with the family at this difficult time.
He prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace in Heaven.
Dr. Piyush Kapila General Secretary said that most of the members attending the condolence meeting called by SAMDCOT (State Association of Medical and Dental College Teachers) had expressed deep sorrow on the demise of Dr. R.L. Gupta during their addresses
