As part of the ongoing drive of the Shimla Police to clean Shimla against drugs and drug peddlers, a team of the Special Cell has arrested 3 people with chitta. One of the accused fled the spot but was later arrested by the police. According to the case registered at Dhalli police station, the police team was out on patrol towards Sanjauli, Dhali. During this time, the team got information that some people were selling chitta at the Ahluwalia Bhawan graveyard.
On receiving the information, the police team reached the spot and arrested 3 youths: Trilok Negi son of late Mangat Ram of village Mandol, Post Office Masli and Tehsil Chirgaon, Suraj Prakash Sharma, son of Jeet Ram Sharma, resident of Suraj Cottage Bypass Road Malyana Shimla and Anupam Thakur son of Balveer Singh Thakur, resident of village and Post Office Kadivan Tehsil Rohru with 9.350 gm chitta. Of these youths, Anupam Thakur had fled from the spot, who was later arrested. The police have registered a case under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
