The elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and party functionaries should keep a strict vigil on persons coming from other parts of the country to their native places so that they follow the protocol of home quarantine and do not mix up with local people till their quarantine period is over.
This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the ‘Panna Pramukhs’ of Soroa block of Seraj Assembly Constituency of Mandi district through video conferencing from Shimla.
Chief Minister said that several people have come from red zones of various parts of the country and they being kept under institutional quarantine.
He said these people would be shifted to home quarantine after their tests were found negative after seven days of institutional quarantine. He said that all the party workers must ensure that no one in their areas particularly the migrant labourers go without food.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the ‘Nigah’ team should visit the house of the persons coming from other States to ensure that the house has adequate facilities for persons under home quarantine. He said that if they feel that the house does not have sufficient isolation facilities then visiting persons should be kept in community accommodation such as panchayat bhawans, mahila mandal bhawans and yuvak mandal bhawans.
Chief Minister said that the party workers must also provide adequate face masks and face covers to the needy and also sensitize the people about its benefits. He said that any kind of social functions and gatherings should also be avoided.
