Inaugurated the fair ground constructed at a cost of Rs. 06 lakh
Health and Family Welfare, Social Justice Empowerment, and Soldier Welfare Minister Colonel Dr. Dhaniram Shandil said that fairs and festivals are the symbol of our rich ancient culture, and it is our moral responsibility to preserve them. Dr. Shandil was addressing the closing ceremony of Maa Bhagwati Mela today after inaugurating the stage of the fairground constructed at a cost of Rs 06 lakh in the Gram Panchayat Ochghat of the Solan Assembly constituency.
Dr. Shandil said that while fairs and festivals promote the feeling of mutual brotherhood, they are also a means of entertainment for the rural people. He urged that the tradition of fairs organized at the local level should be preserved so that local folk culture and handicrafts continue to be promoted through them.
The Social Justice and Empowerment Minister said that development of basic facilities like roads, health, and education in the remote areas of the state is the priority of the present government. The government is making every possible effort for the upliftment of all sections of the society, especially the backward classes.
Dr. Shandil said that with the aim of further strengthening the health services, the state government has decided to appoint 200 medical officers as job trainees in the state. He said that our government has decided to create 38 posts of assistant professors in cardiology, neurology, neurology and gastroenterology in medical colleges and fill them. Apart from this, approval has also been given to fill 400 posts of staff nurses as job trainees in various medical colleges of the state.
The Health Minister said that the state government and the common people have suffered huge losses due to the massive destruction caused during the monsoon season. He said that in this difficult time of disaster, everyone will have to work together to overcome the problems of the common people so that the lives of the affected can become normal. He also directed the Public Works Department to speed up the restoration work of damaged roads in the area. He said that the state government is standing with the affected families in this difficult time and is providing them as much help as possible.
He said that all the demands of the local people will be fulfilled in a phased manner and all the developmental works which are stuck in this area will be started soon. He announced to give Rs. 1.5 lakh for laying tiles on the Ochghat Mela stage and Rs. 2 lakh for installing solar lights. He also announced to give Rs. 21 thousand from his discretionary fund to the Mela Committee for successful organization of the Mela.
On this occasion, a Kabaddi competition and cultural program were organized. The chief guest also awarded the winners.
Dr. Shandil heard the public problems on this occasion and directed the officials to resolve them on the spot.
Earlier, head of Gram Panchayat Ochghat Poonam Sharma welcomed the chief guest and apprised him of the problems of the area.
