Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that the gold and silver of temples will not be mortgaged in Himachal. It seems that the Leader of the Opposition is dreaming. Mukesh said that Jairam Thakur is spreading sensationalism to destabilize the state. The Leader of the Opposition should tell what proof he has of the preparation to mortgage gold and silver. Congress MLA Malendra Rajan raised the matter of the bad condition of Ram Gopal temple in Damtal in the House. During the discussion on this question, the Leader of the Opposition said that information has been received that the government is going to mortgage the gold and silver of temples. The government has also taken a loan on GPF.
Jairam said that if there is land near Ram Gopal temple and there is faith in the temple, then it is not justified to stop the nine crore rupees sanctioned for the construction of the temple. The Deputy Chief Minister strongly opposed this statement of the Leader of the Opposition. He said that the Leader of the Opposition wants to destabilize the state. He wants to fool the people. The Leader of the Opposition should tell whose temple’s gold and silver were mortgaged. For which temple is such a proposal? This is his figment of imagination and is fabricated. Mukesh said that he must have mortgaged the gold of Kedarnath etc.
On the other hand, raising the issue of Ram Gopal temple, MLA Malendra Rajan said that this temple located in Damtal has property worth crores of rupees. But, the condition of the temple has deteriorated. Irregularities should be investigated. In response, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the temple has 16 thousand kanals of land in Damtal, 145 kanals in Shahpur, 548 kanals in Pathankot in its name. There is an FDR of 15 crores, five hotels, two petrol pumps and 12 crushers also in the name of the temple. The record of expenditure incurred on the temple has been summoned. The previous government had sanctioned nine crores for the construction of the temple a month before the elections. Now it has been decided to stop it. A committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Language and Culture Department, and details of the temple’s property will be collected. Demarcation of the land will be done. A plan will also be prepared to make the temple grand. The committee will also give suggestions to save the property. It will also be investigated who all have possession of the temple’s land.
