Sirmour, March 01
The BJP has strongly opposed the order of Himachal Pradesh’s Sukhu government to deposit the money of temples in the government treasury. BJP leaders have accused the government of playing with the sentiments of the followers of Sanatan Dharma and putting religious places in financial crisis.
Sirmaur District BJP spokesperson Melaram Sharma and BJP Yuva Morcha President Ranveer Thakur launched a scathing attack on the government and said that Sukhu government has become completely financially bankrupt and is now trying to collect money from temples to meet its expenses. He said that the government is running on the policy of “Rinam Kritva Ghritam Pivet” and has now reached the point of begging from the temples of the state.
BJP leaders alleged that the government is misusing public money by giving cabinet minister status to its special supporters, and now it is eyeing the funds of temples to run government schemes. He said that the temples of Himachal Pradesh are not just religious places but the centers of faith for crores of devotees. In such a situation, transferring the donations offered there to the government account is playing with the religious sentiments of the public.
He also alleged that the government has issued this order only for Hindu religious places, while mosques, gurdwaras, and churches present in the state have been kept out of it. BJP leaders termed it religious discrimination and demanded the government immediately withdraw this decision.
BJP leaders said that if the government does not withdraw its order to take money from temples, then the Sanatani people and devotees of the state will be forced to go for a big movement. He said that the Shaktipeeths and deities of Himachal will not accept this decision of the government, and the Sukhu government will have to face serious consequences of this. To protect the interests of the people and religious institutions of the state, the BJP has warned to hold massive protests on this issue.
