Focus on inter-departmental coordination, water storage tanks and ensuring regular supply to residents
Shimla: Harish Janarthan held a monthly review meeting with officials and employees of the water department at the SJPNL office in US Club, Shimla, to review the implementation of the 24×7 water supply system in the city.
The meeting focused on ensuring uninterrupted drinking water supply to residents and expediting work required for the smooth implementation of the round-the-clock water supply facility.
During the meeting, progress on the construction of water storage tanks was reviewed, including completed tanks and projects currently under construction. Coordination among the Public Works Department (PWD), Electricity Department and Forest Department was also discussed to ensure that pending works are completed efficiently.
Janarthan emphasised the importance of better coordination among the concerned departments to address implementation challenges and ensure that residents receive an adequate and regular supply of drinking water.
He said the necessary arrangements for the 24×7 water supply system had been developed with the aim of ensuring that people in Shimla do not have to face water shortages in the future.
The review meeting underscored the need to maintain close monitoring of ongoing works and strengthen coordination among departments to ensure reliable drinking water supply to every household in Shimla.
