THDC India Limited celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at its Corporate Headquarters in Rishikesh. Shri Sipan Kumar Garg, Chairman & Managing Director, THDCIL, unfurled the National Flag on the occasion and addressed employees across project sites and offices through a virtual platform.
Extending warm Republic Day greetings, Shri Garg highlighted the organisation’s unwavering commitment to constitutional values, discipline, and nation-building through sustainable and reliable power generation. The occasion resonated with a deep sense of national pride as the THDCIL family paid homage to the architects of the Indian Constitution, freedom fighters, and martyrs who laid the foundation of the nation’s democracy.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Garg lauded the collective dedication and efforts of THDCIL employees, emphasizing their crucial role in strengthening India’s power sector. He remarked that THDCIL’s journey over the years has been marked by resilience, sustained performance, and strategic growth. Highlighting a major milestone, he noted that the Company’s installed capacity has witnessed an impressive increase of nearly 130%, rising from 1,587 MW to 3,657 MW—signifying a substantial expansion of its generation portfolio.
He further underscored that this growth has been complemented by a stronger financial position, with THDC India Limited’s credit rating improving from “AA” to “AA+”, reflecting robust operational efficiency and sound financial discipline. Shri Garg also emphasized that in an era of rapid technological advancement, rising expectations, and compressed timelines, organisations must remain proactive, agile, and future-ready.
The Republic Day ceremony at the Corporate Headquarters was attended by Sh. L. P. Joshi, Chief Technical Officer; Sh. Kumar Sharad, Executive Director (Projects); Dr. A. N. Tripathy, Chief General Manager (HR–Admin & Corporate Communications); along with other senior officers.
Republic Day celebrations were held across THDC India Limited’s projects and offices nationwide, featuring cultural programmes, patriotic performances, and enthusiastic employee participation. These celebrations reflected the organisation’s strong spirit of unity, pride, and commitment to national values.
THDC India Limited currently operates a diverse portfolio of power projects across the country, including the Tehri Hydropower Project (1,000 MW), Koteshwar Hydroelectric Project (400 MW), Tehri Pumped Storage Plant (750 MW), Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant (1,320 MW), Patan Wind Power Project (50 MW), Dwarka Wind Power Project (63 MW), Dhukwan Small Hydroelectric Project (24 MW), and Kasaragod Solar Power Project (50 MW), along with other strategic assets contributing to its total installed capacity of 3,657 MW.
