He further stated that the Districts were instructed to increase the coverage in the upcoming days so that the target could be achieved well in time.
He further added that the state would need to conduct around 650 sessions till 9th Feb to achieve the target for which appropriate directions have been issued to the concerned authorities. The State had received a consignment of 87,500 vaccine doses in addition to 93000 doses received earlier and 43,100 doses have additionally been assigned to the Districts for the 1st dose, while the 2nd dose for vaccination of Health Care Workers has been retained at the State Vaccine Store, Parimahal.
He further apprised that several new features have been added in the CoWIN portal like – allot beneficiary session, updation of back log data and a provision to edit the details of registered beneficiaries. The districts were instructed to utilize these features fully to increase the vaccine coverage and minimize the vaccine wastage. Coming to vaccine wastage, it was informed that the wastage percentage in the State of HP is only 2.55% against the permissible limit of 10% by Govt. of India. This has only been possible due to diligent planning and exemplary execution by the field authorities. The AFI has only been reported in 1.16% of the vaccinated beneficiaries and that too are minor in nature and resolved after management as per the standard protocol.
He further appealed that the vaccine is entirely safe and the Health Care Workers should come forward to get themselves vaccinated so that the front line defense against this deadly virus is strengthened.
