Shimla: In a major employment push, the Himachal Pradesh government has announced more than 2,200 new government job openings in its latest budget, aiming to strengthen key public sectors and generate opportunities for youth.
According to the budget proposals, 1,000 posts of constables will be filled in the police department, along with 50 महिला सब-इंस्पेक्टर (women sub-inspectors) to improve gender representation in law enforcement.
The Public Works Department (PWD) is set to recruit 160 Junior Engineers (JE) to boost infrastructure development across the state. In the revenue sector, 645 पटवारी (patwari) posts have been approved to improve land record management and public services.
Additionally, the education sector will see the appointment of 389 Assistant Professors, aimed at strengthening higher education institutions and addressing faculty shortages.
The government stated that these recruitments are part of a broader strategy to enhance administrative efficiency, improve service delivery, and tackle unemployment in the state.
