Raja Khas village of Indora in Kangra district has become the first solar model village of Himachal Pradesh by doing the maximum solar installation. DC Kangra Hemraj Bairwa said that the village will be given a special grant of Rs 1 crore for solar energy. This decision was taken in the meeting of the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) constituted under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. Under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, a competition was held in 43 villages of Kangra district. In this six-month competition, Raja Khas village secured the first position by doing the maximum solar installation. Now the ‘Model Solar Village Implementation Agency’ will develop the village. The agency will prepare a detailed project report.
After this, the village will be made solar powered in a phased manner. The ‘Model Solar Village Implementation Agency’ nominated by the government will develop a DPR and work on it to convert the village into a solar-powered village. The Deputy Commissioner said that the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme will be implemented effectively in Kangra district. Project Officer Himurja and Member Secretary of DLCC, Ramesh Thakur, said that the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme is being implemented by ‘Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Council Limited.’
