Himachal’s homestay operators will no longer have to visit the tourism office to obtain or renew their licenses. Now, more than 4,500 homestay operators in the state can register or renew their licenses from the convenience of their homes. Through the Electronics Development Corporation, the Tourism Department has created a homestay portal.
For the official launch of the portal, the department has asked the Chief Minister’s Office for further time. From the convenience of their homes, operators will now be able to register their homestays online. It will be necessary to scan and upload the necessary documents to the portal in order to register.
Online deposits are another option for fees. Additionally, homestay licenses will be issued electronically to operators. In addition to saving time, the portal’s introduction will do away with the requirement for annual renewal formalities. Tourism Development Officers will examine the homestays and confirm the conditions required by the Homestay Rules 2025 after receiving an application through the site. The online application will be accepted if it is determined that the arrangements meet the requirements.
The Electronics Development Corporation has created a platform for homestay registration and renewal. According to Vivek Bhatia, Director of the Tourism Department, people can now sign up for homestays online.
