The Indo-Pak war has come to an end, but even after the ceasefire, the night routes from Himachal to Jammu including Amritsar in Punjab will remain closed, because there is tension between India and Pakistan. Due to this tension, the occupancy of passengers going from Himachal to Punjab, Amritsar, Jammu and Pathankot is also low.
In such a situation, the corporation management has decided that the night routes of buses will remain closed till the situation in the neighboring states of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir becomes normal. The occupancy on these routes will be reviewed and the routes will be operated. Management officials also say that due to Indo-Pak tension, the number of passengers had reduced a lot at night. The corporation will continuously review the bus routes for Amritsar, Jammu, Katra and Pathankot and buses will be operated on that basis. Bus services will be run on these routes during the day as per regular time, subject to any law and order restrictions imposed by the local authorities regarding the bus routes. If this situation of tension increases, night routes may have to be closed for other places as well.
Corporation Managing Director Nipun Jindal said that a concrete decision will be taken in the coming days regarding running of buses. Only after this will the night routes be restored. He said that the routes will be reviewed. The decision to restore bus service on night routes will be taken only after brainstorming.
For the convenience of all passengers, it has been advised to stay updated about the route and travel accordingly. It has been advised not to travel at night. All passengers have been advised to stay updated and plan their journey accordingly.
