Shimla, April 3
The Students of IEC University organized a street play at the historic Ridge Maidan in Shimla as part of the “Drug-Free Himachal” campaign, aiming to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
Through an engaging nukkad natak (street play), the students highlighted the growing menace of drug addiction and its serious consequences for individuals and society. The performance effectively conveyed a strong message urging people, especially the youth, to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthier lifestyle.
The initiative drew the attention of both locals and tourists present at the Ridge, many of whom appreciated the students’ efforts and impactful presentation. The audience lauded the creative approach taken by the students to address a pressing social issue.
Faculty members accompanying the students stated that IEC University consistently encourages its students to participate in social awareness activities. They emphasized that such initiatives not only contribute to community welfare but also help students develop a sense of responsibility toward society.
The event served as a reminder of the crucial role educational institutions can play in combating drug abuse through awareness and community engagement.
