Nearly 250 doctors of IGMC, Shimla to go on a strike on October 4.
Doctors in IGMC, Shimla, have started working with black ribbons as a protest from Friday. The doctors demands is to release their academic allowances.
Semdikot President Dr. Rajesh Sood informed that the government has increased the academic allowance of specialist doctors from Rs 7,500 to Rs 18,000.
However, doctors working in medical colleges have not yet been given this allowance.
In this regard, all the doctors would go on mass leave on October 4.
IGMC hospital has OPD of over 3000 patients per day, the mass leave would result in causing trouble to patients as well as junior doctors.
