iHUB Shoolini organised a two-day “HACKATHON” on Application of AI in Healthcare 4.0, Industry 4.0 and Smart Cities with the support of iHUB DivyaSampark, Technology Innovation Hub, A Joint initiative of DST, Government of India (GoI) and IIT Roorkee. The hackathon aimed to explore the potential of AI in revolutionising the healthcare industry and contributing to the development of smart cities.
The welcome note was delivered by Prof. Deepak Kumar, Coordinator iHUB Shoolini, who introduced the audience to iHUB and the purpose of the hackathon. He also highlighted the role of an agreement for the establishment of iHUB Shoolini signed by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Atul Khosla and Mr. Manish Anand CEO, iHUB DivyaSampark.
Prof. Deepak also talked about the adoption of advanced devices and technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, telemedicine, AR and VR, wearable systems, mobile health apps, data analysis, and smart living. He also highlighted the importance of Government of India programmes like ‘Make in India’, ‘Skill India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in complementing Samarth Udyog Bharat 4.0.
Shoolini University Chancellor, Prof. P.K. Khosla, shared words of wisdom, highlighted the need for innovation and the potential of AI. Prof. Virender Rihani, Dean Faculty of Engineering, addressed the audience and explained the basics of AI and its applications.
Two expert talks were delivered by renowned professors from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Prof. Pawan Kumar Dhar, Director IQAC, delivered a talk on the application of AI in healthcare, and Prof. Ram Sagar Mishra, professor at JNU, spoke on the history and application of AI in drug discovery. After the expert talks, students presented their innovative ideas on the application of AI in healthcare, industry, and smart cities.
The presentations were judged by experts from pharma, AI, CSE, and biotechnology. The event was attended by students from various departments, including the School of AI, Computer Sciences, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Agriculture, and Pharmacy.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Pankaj Vaidya. The hackathon was a successful event and showcased the potential of AI in transforming the healthcare industry and contributing to the development of smart cities.
