In the Himachal Pradesh government, Indira Gandhi Pyari Bahna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana of Sukhu government is still hanging. In Una district, 80679 women applied for this scheme, out of which 7280 women were given three months in June 2024 at Rs 1500 per month, but women who were given this amount, in their account. Not a single rupee was transferred. Now their applications have also been sent back to the Gram Sabha for approval. According to the department, out of 80679 cases only about 300 applications have been approved by Gram Sabhas so far.
In fact, in Himachal Pradesh, the Congress government had promised to give Rs 1500 per month to women above 18 years of age before the elections. After coming to power, the government sought applications from women for this scheme, but thousands of women in Una district are still waiting for the benefit of the scheme. In Una district, 80679 women applied through the Welfare Department. On June 19, 2024, Chief Minister Sukhvindra Singh Sukhu gave Rs 4500-4500 to 7280 beneficiary women in a program organized in Haroli. In the first phase of the scheme, 3 crore 27 lakh 60 thousand rupees were provided in Una district.
However, women applying after this have not received a single rupee. In contrast, their applications have also been sent back to the gram sabha for approval. At the same time, the applications for taking Rs 1500 per month of 73399 women are pending with the department. The applied women say that the government had promised to give Rs 1500 per month, for which they also applied, but they have not received any benefit yet.
According to District Welfare Officer Anita Sharma, about 300 women of all these applications have been approved by Gram Sabhas so far. After approval of all the women’s applications, the directorate will be sent on reaching the office. He said that women who were issued money under this scheme were not approved by Gram Sabhas at the time, due to which their names have been sent back to the Gram Panchayat, so that their names are approved. May be and they can get the benefit of this scheme .
It is worth noting that in the winter session of the assembly, the government had said that a total of 44 thousand women in the state have received Rs 1500-1500 so far, while around eight lakh women had applied.
