Minjar was tied to a coconut and immersed in the Ravi river from Manjri Garden

The historic and international Minjar Fair-2025, a symbol of the rich cultural heritage of district Chamba, concluded today with great joy and immersion of Minjar (Silk Tassel) in the river Ravi.
A grand procession was taken out from the Akhand Chandi Mahal complex under the leadership of Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania. MLAs Neeraj Nayyar, Dr. Hansraj, DS Thakur and former MLA Pawan Nayyar also participated in it.
People from various sections of society including palanquins of local deities, cultural troupes, police and home guard platoons, NCC cadets of Government Senior Secondary School, Chamba participated in the procession.
The procession passed through the main market of Chamba and reached Manjari Garden situated on the banks of River Ravi.
The speaker of the assembly performed puja as per the traditional rites and tied the Minjar to a coconut and immersed it in the Ravi river.
On this occasion, local artists also presented traditional Kunjari-Malhar singing.
Kuldeep Singh Pathania earlier enjoyed interesting wrestling matches in the Dangal competition as part of the Minjar Mela sports competitions series held at the historic Chaugan in Chamba.
Chairman District Agricultural Produce and Marketing Committee Lalit Thakur, Chairman Municipal Council Neelam Nayyar, Member Board of Directors State Road Transport Corporation Surjeet Bharmauri, public representatives Kamal Thakur, DS Pathania, Yashwant Khanna, Kartar Thakur, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav, SDM Chamba Priyanshu Khati, Assistant Commissioner Aparajita Chandel and many local people were present on the occasion.
