A heritage walk will be organised to provide information about the historical heritage of Chamba city.
The district level function will be organised in the Durbar Hall of the historic Akhand Chandi Palace.

Various programmes will be organised at the district headquarters Chamba on March 8 on the occasion of International Women’s Day and Chamba Day.
While giving information in a press conference held at Bachat Bhawan today, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal said that Chamba Day and International Women’s Day will be celebrated jointly on March 8 to commemorate the historical background of the merger of Chamba State with India and the first Deputy Commissioner of Civil Administration taking charge in the year 1948.
He stated that the program will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Bhuri Singh Museum. Following this, a heritage walk will be organized to introduce participants to the historical heritage of Chamba city. During this heritage walk, participants will be introduced to Chamba’s ancient temples, historical sites, and cultural heritage. This tour will be conducted as a guided tour, with expert guides providing information about Chamba’s rich history.
Mukesh Repaswal said that after the heritage walk, a district-level program commemorating International Women’s Day will be held in the Durbar Hall of the historic Akhand Chandi Palace. During this event, stalls will be set up by self-help groups and artisans to promote local products, thereby promoting local handicrafts and products.
Cultural programs will also be held during the event, which will be attended by ASHA and Anganwadi workers and women from self-help groups.
During this, distinguished women belonging to Chamba district who have achieved remarkable achievements in various fields will be honored.
In continuation of the programme, three special lecture sessions will also be organised in the Government Post Graduate College, Chamba during the coming week in which women who have achieved success in various fields of Chamba district will interact with the girl students.
Along with this, the girl students appearing in the merit list of class 10th and 12th will also be honoured on this occasion like every year.
The Deputy Commissioner has urged all Chamba residents, especially the youth, to participate in this programme in large numbers.
