Lakshmi Devi, a resident of Dharamshala, comes from a farmer family and the livelihood of the family was mainly dependent on agriculture. Laxmi Devi joined the Akanksha self -help group with the desire to do something excessively for the family. She states that when she saw the effect of intake of products damaging health, she kept thinking about the healthy options of these products. He learned business skills under the National Rural Livelihood Mission in collaboration with his self -help groups and trained to make momos of ragi and semolina. Momos of ragi and semolina not only gave them a good market but people also adopted it as a better option.
Laxmi Devi, besides besides the help of district administration in Dharamshala, also started operating the ‘Him Ira’ shop, where she sells products of various self -help groups including her products. Lakshmi Devi says that with the government’s plans and the cooperation of the district administration, she is living a respectful life today and has become a millionaire. Some such story is of Parveen Kumari of Baijnath, who made his life enjoyable with the cultivation of coarse grains like millet, ragi, jowar. Parveen Kumari, who belongs to the farming family, says that his family had very limited means of income from traditional agricultural works.
He later joined Vaibhav Lakshmi Self -Help Group Baijnath and started working on agricultural products such as millets (millet, ragi, jowar). This received training on nutritious agricultural products to work on the sale and marketing of products. Parveen Kumari is now earning 18 to 20 thousand per month and is inspiring other women to become self -sufficient.
Asha Devi of Padar, associated with Abhilasha Self Help Group, is also working in Tulsi based outfits such as Tulsi extracts, Tulsi tea and Tulsi soap under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. Asha Devi said, she bought useful machines by taking bank loans with the help of the group, making her work more systematic and productive. Asha Devi is also taking care of the health of the society by earning 15 to 20 thousand rupees from Tulsi products. He said that the demand for their products is continuously increasing in the market and now they have become completely self -sufficient.
Steps being taken for branding and marketing with women trained: Deputy Commissioner
Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa says that effective steps are being taken to branding and marketing their products with better training to women of self -help groups to make women’s economy gentle. He informed that the snow Ira shop has recently been launched outside the Zilla Parishad office of Dharamshala to provide facilities to sell their products to various self -help groups. He said that with the aim of making women financially self -reliant, snow Ira shops will be opened across the district. Along with this, appropriate steps have been taken for the packaging of the products so that the demand for these products in the market can increase. The website of Snow Ira was also prepared to sell the products of DC, self -help groups online and all self -help groups are being associated with the website so that self -help groups can also sell their products online in future.
