Activities will be held on the drive next drugs theme during the five -day summer festival
International Shimla Summer festival 2025 will be held from 01 to 05 June this year at the historic ridge ground.
This information was given by Shimla Anupam Kashyap, Chairman and Deputy Commissioner of Shimla Summer utsav Committee, presiding over the meeting organized in Bacha Bhavan here today.
Anupam Kashyap said that during the Shimla Summer festival this year, all activities will be organized on the drive fire drug theme to make the youth aware of the growing drugs in the state including Shimla.
*Cultural parties from other countries will also give performances*
He informed that during the five -day Shimla Summer festival, in addition to the cultural presentations of school children every day, attractive cultural performances of well -known artists will be seen in the evening. In addition, activities related to comic poet conferences, qawwali, folk culture will also be organized this year. He said that efforts will also be made to invite cultural parties from other countries on the lines of International Dussehra Fair Kullu and International Shivaratri Festival Mandi. Similarly, cultural parties of various states will also give their presentations every day through NZCC Patiala.
*Efforts will be made to bring Shimla markets in the form*
Anupam Kashyap said that efforts will be made to bring the markets of Shimla city in the past during the International Summer Festival Shimla to make tourists as well as local youth aware of their characteristics. He said that in the past, the markets of Shimla were specially known for various items, but over time they have been identified, which needs to be brought again in the same form.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that during the summer festival this year, efforts will be made to make the stage other place on the historic ridge ground. He instructed the officials of the Public Works Department to complete the ongoing construction work by the end of April so that preparations for the event can be started in time.
He said that painting and quiz competition, road safety awareness, natural flower show etc. will also be organized during the summer festival. Healthy baby competition will also be organized during this period. Apart from this, Himachali Food Festival will also be organized.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Shimla Summotsav is a very prestigious program, which people from other states including Shimla eagerly wait. He said that despite the short time last year, the Shimla Summerotsav was organized in a good way and he is confident that this year also all the departments will cooperate with the district administration in organizing this festival better with mutual coordination. Additionally, he instructed all officers to start their preparations from now on to organize more and more activities at the summer festival.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the District Youth Services and Sports Officer to conduct various sports activities during this period. He asked roller skating and table tennis to include especially in sports activities.
*Souvenir and coffee table book will be released*
He informed that a souvenir and coffee table book will also be released on the International Shimla Summer festival 2025, which will include old photographs related to Shimla.
Assistant Commissioner Gopal Chand Sharma conducted the proceedings of the meeting and presented the sequence of items.
Commissioner Municipal Corporation Shimla Bhupendra Atri, Additional District Magistrate Jyoti Rana and officers and employees of various departments were present in the meeting.
