Dr. Anil Sharma, a native of Hamirpur, a Ph.D. from the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. During his doctoral work, he was in a DBT-funded project. Dr. Anil joined the University of Nottingham, UK, as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, supported by the EPSRC (the UK’s main research funding body). His research will focus on bioleaching critical and strategic metals from urban waste streams.
Dr. Monika Choudhary, hailing from Kangra, also completed her Ph.D. in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at JUIT, Waknaghat, where she worked on a SERB-funded project. She has now joined the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. The Icahn School of Medicine is at the forefront of next-generation medical and healthcare research.
Both scholars expressed their gratitude to their alma mater, Jaypee University, and shared their exciting research endeavors with the Head of the Department, Prof. Sudhir Syal. Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma congratulated them on their achievements and wished them continued success in their research careers. All other higher authorities of JUIT and faculty members of the department also congratulated both the scholars for their excellent achievement and showered best wishes for their future endeavor.
