The Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, JUIT organized a Joint Workshop on Molecular and Plant Tissue Culture Techniques at RKMV, Shimla for 82 students of BSc ( Biotechnology, Microbiology, Zoology, and Botany. Dr Hemant Sood (Associate Professor, BT&BI) and Ms Kartik S M Chauhan, HoD Zoology (Associate Professor) were the coordinators of the workshop. The inaugural session was spectacularly conducted by Ms Kartik and her dedicated team of students. Dr Anurita Saxena, Principal RKMV motivated the participants with her dynamism and extended gratefulness towards the Honourable VC Prof RK Sharma, and HoD Prof Sudhir Kumar for sowing the seeds of collaborations between the two Institutes in 2022 and organizing many activities so far. Workshop sessions were stated as per the mentioned schedule where Dr Hemant Sood took a session on Plant tissue culture by demonstrating the techniques and providing short notes. Dr Jitenderaa Vashistt, Associate Professor (BT &BI) took a session on Molecular Techniques by demonstrating all the basics to the students in quite detail. The successful culmination of the workshop happened after collecting feedback from participants. Mr Bhagwati Charan, Associate Professor, Botany gave the vote of thanks to all the organizers, JUIT administration, staff, research scholars, faculty members, and students who are deeply acknowledged for their unconditional support. Dr Hemant Sood extended gratefulness to the authorities of both institutes for the collaborative workshop and especially to the team of RKMV students for their dedication and splendid deep-rooted culture. It is to inform that JUIT is organizing such multiple activities for celebrating National Science Day in collaboration with HIMCOSTE, Government of Himachal Pradesh which is supported and catalyzed by DST GoI.
