Criminal incidents appear to be on the rise in Himachal Pradesh. The latest case comes from the Devi Nagar area of Paonta Sahib, the district headquarters of Sirmaur, where a man murdered his live-in partner. Police arrested the accused on the spot and a thorough investigation is underway.
According to reports, the accused and the woman were living together in a rented house. On Monday morning, police received information that the woman’s body was lying in a pool of blood inside the room. When the team arrived at the scene, the accused was also present and was immediately taken into custody.
Police investigation has revealed that a young man named Sheeshpal, a resident of Haryana, attacked his girlfriend, Mala Devi (originally from Uttar Pradesh), with a glass bottle, killing her on the spot. The forensic team has collected evidence from the scene.
It is reported that there was a long-standing dispute between the two. The woman’s husband had died some time ago, after which she began living with the accused. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination, and a detailed investigation into the cause of death is underway.
