Wreaths will be laid at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, and a two-minute silence will be observed in memory of the martyrs.
A meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap regarding the preparations for the Martyrs’ Day celebrations to be held on January 30, 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Martyrs’ Day program will be held on January 30th at 10:30 a.m. near the statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the historic Ridge Maidan. During this program, dignitaries and dignitaries will lay wreaths and offer floral tributes to the statue. Additionally, a two-minute silence will be observed at 11 a.m. in memory of the martyrs. Artists from the Information and Public Relations Department will perform Ramdhun and bhajans during the program.
He stated that Martyrs’ Day is a solemn occasion and appropriate steps should be taken to maintain its sanctity. He directed departmental officials to complete all preparations in a timely manner. He also directed them to ensure the participation of various departments for the grand event.
