In a major administrative overhaul, the High Court of Himachal Pradesh has ordered a large-scale transfer and posting of judicial officers across the state. The notification, issued on Tuesday, reshuffles more than 60 officers, including District Judges, Senior Civil Judges, and Civil Judges, with immediate effect.

The move is aimed at strengthening judicial efficiency and ensuring better administration across districts.
Key Highlights of Transfers
Anuja Sood has been appointed as District & Sessions Judge, Chamba after being relieved from Labour Court-cum-Industrial Tribunal, Shimla.
Preeti Thakur, District & Sessions Judge, Chamba, has been moved to Shimla as Presiding Officer of the Labour Court-cum-Industrial Tribunal.
Vikrant Kaundal has been deputed as Additional Secretary in the H.P. State Legal Services Authority, Shimla.
Manisha Goyal and Niranjan Singh have been shifted within Kullu and Lahaul & Spiti jurisdictions in key judicial roles.
Prashant Singh Negi has been posted as Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Solan.
Several officers including Shikha Lakhanpal, Pratibha Negi, and Anita Sharma have been transferred among Kangra, Una, and Shimla.
Changes at Civil Judge Level
A significant number of Civil Judges and JMFCs have also been transferred across districts like Mandi, Kangra, Solan, Sirmaur, and Bilaspur.
Raghav Gupta moves to Bilaspur as Civil Judge-cum-JMFC.
Anshul Malik posted to Nahan, while Yudh Veer Singh moves to Kandaghat.
Divya Sharma and Megha Sharma are among those reassigned to Sundernagar and Shimla respectively.
New Appointments & Training
Newly inducted Civil Judges (Sr. No. 43–61) will undergo one month of practical training under senior judicial officers before independently handling courts.
Some officers have been placed in leave/training reserve at the High Court in Shimla.
Special Administrative Directions
Officers must join their new postings on or before April 16, 2026.
Certain officers will not be eligible for transfer allowances as per the notification.
A circuit court at Bilaspur will be held periodically by the Senior Civil Judge-cum-ACJM, Ghumarwin.
The High Court stated that the transfers are made “in the interest of administration” to enhance efficiency, streamline judicial functioning, and ensure balanced distribution of workload across Himachal Pradesh.
This reshuffle is one of the most extensive judicial transfers in recent times, reflecting the High Court’s focus on strengthening the justice delivery system across the state.
