Accused of calling a Panchayat Representative Conference by giving misleading information, MLA Suresh Kumar was asked – why did you not show the courage to organize the program in the name of Congress?
Samirpur, October 19, 2026:
BJP Samirpur Mandal President Abhayveer Lovely has accused Bhoranj Congress MLA Suresh Kumar of allegedly misusing government machinery and misleading Panchayat representatives into attending the event under the guise of a Panchayat Representative Conference. Demanding an impartial investigation, he asked, if the event was organized by the Congress party, why were the representatives invited by informing them that it was a government event instead of clearly organizing it in the name of the party?
Abhayveer Lovely alleged that due to fears of lack of expected participation under the Congress banner, Panchayat Pradhans and BDC members were informed of the event through the BDO office. He said that after arriving at the event, some Panchayat representatives learned of its true nature, realizing they had been misled. Had they been given clear information about the organizers and the purpose of the event in advance, they could have made their own decisions.
He said that Panchayat representatives are a vital part of the democratic system and their time, position, and political independence must be respected. The allegation that government officials and offices were used to secure participation in a political party’s program is serious. The administration should clarify on whose instructions the representatives were invited and for what purpose.
The BJP Mandal President stated that the BJP stands for the respect and rights of Panchayat representatives. The party has previously honored their contributions by organizing Panchayat Representative Awards ceremonies. He added that participation in political events should be based on trust and transparency, not on the basis of alleged misinformation.
Abhayveer Lovely questioned MLA Suresh Kumar, asking why he hesitated to hold the event in the name of the party if he was confident in his own program and the popularity of the Congress party. He demanded that the state government and relevant administrative officials investigate the facts of the matter and prevent the alleged misuse of government machinery for political events in the future.
He said that political competition is a part of democracy, but compromise with the impartiality of the government machinery and the respect of public representatives is not acceptable.
