Shimla, October 11. Commandant Bhupendra Singh Negi inaugurated a modern e-library at the 1st Himachal Pradesh Armed Police Battalion, Junga, on Sunday. He said the initiative aims to provide quality educational resources to youth, improve competitive exam preparation facilities, and promote education in rural areas.
Commandant Negi stated that the battalion’s e-library will not only be limited to police officers and personnel, but will also be available, completely free, to children and youth in Junga and surrounding areas. Students will be able to access digital study materials to prepare for various competitive examinations for the central and state governments.
The Commandant informed that the Sutlej Hydroelectric Project has provided a 75-inch smart TV for the e-library. Through this, free films will be screened for local residents once a week. He expressed his gratitude to the project management for this support. He also thanked Director General of Police Ashok Tiwari for his guidance and support.
Retired Police Inspector Prakashanand said that he has been associated with the 1st Himachal Pradesh Armed Police Battalion, Junga for the last 50 years but the kind of positive changes that have taken place here in the last five months is a record in itself.
Ramlal, head of the Junga Gram Panchayat, said the e-library is a significant achievement for rural students. It will provide children with modern educational resources and a better learning environment. Rajesh Kumar, head of the Junga Chamber of Commerce, said the initiative is an excellent example of mutual cooperation, trust, and collaboration between the battalion and the local community.
Women employees working in the battalion, LC Ritika Sharma and LC Jyoti also described the establishment of e-library as an important achievement.
